Everything Halloween

There's one thing I will say for Halloween,
it sure knows how to keep us busy.

First off, the costumes.

This year, costume planning began in January.
(For Macy anyways.)
Ever since we stumbled upon the Fresh Beat Band,
she has been planning her Marina costume.

Not too bad, huh?

Coleman claimed (in a way only 2 year olds can)
that he was up for whatever when it came to this year's costume,
so we went with a monster.

 He liked it...
for about 5 minutes.

Then, there's Brett and me.

Do we have kids or what?

Onto the festivities.

My Mumsie came down for a little pre-Halloween get together.

We carved apples to make shrunken heads.

Sounds weird,
but they look pretty cool after a few weeks of drying.

We also had to bust out the traditional ghost and mummy cookies.
It just wouldn't be Halloween without them.

We hosted a little Halloween shin-dig with the friends.

Shrocks

Johnsons

Cookes and Fields were there too,
but somehow managed to sneak by without getting their picture taken.

We did some trunk or treating the day before Halloween.

And since the entire bucket full of candy they each got the day before wasn't enough,
we went old school trick or treating on Halloween night.

Notice how Coleman moonlights as Bob the Builder.
(Which just happens to be one of my top 2 most annoying kid shows of all time.)
Three times in the monster costume was just too much to ask.

And finally, my one and only Halloween crafty craft.

Spare time is rare around my house these days,
but I managed to whip this little baby together.
Probably because I just happened to have everything at the house
and it literally took me 3 minutes
(minus spray paint drying time)
to make.

Now where are my kids' candy buckets?
I'm craving me some fruity tootsie rolls...
