Ain't No Party Like A 4 Year Old's Party Cause A Four Year Old's Party Don't Stop

Just in case you didn't happen to catch on from the previous post,

 Little Miss Macy just turned 4.

And boy, did we celebrate...a lot.

Like two weeks a lot.

But it was fun.

 It's hard not to get excited when you have a little person who gets giddy talking about every little detail of every little shin-dig that is going to be held in her honor.

First up-the preschool party.

When asked what kind of treat she wanted to bring for her little preschool friends, she replied,

"Donuts...with Hello Kitty on them."

Of course.

Bam.

Good thing Miss Mindy doesn't have a rule against homemade treats.

Celebration numero dos-date with Grandma Sherri.

Grandma Sherri came from Idaho to take Macy out to lunch for her birthday like they did last year.

  After much deliberation, Macy decided she would rather have a Frazil from the

 gas station than lunch from Texas Roadhouse. 

 (C'mon, what four year old would really choose steak over slushy sugar water?)

So Grandma took Macy to the gas station and everyone to Texas Roadhouse.

Birthday girl did not like the spotlight,

but reappeared after we threatened to pass her ice cream around the table.

(One year older AND wiser too!)

The party continues with the family shin dig.

The cake was, of course, Hello Kitty.

Presents were opened.

Macy was ecstatic.

Happy Birthday was sung.

Kids were happy.

Since none of these other events happened to fall on her actual birthday, we wanted to do a little something to make that day special too.

Enter "wake up in the morning to a ton of balloons covering your floor birthday surprise,"

(Which consequently, ended up not being a surprise because she woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.  Boo.)

and some bright pink birthday pancakes.

And for the grand finale-the friend party.

Macy has been planning this thing for over a year.

We held off last year because I thought three was just a little bit young for a friend party.

And because I'm stealing my cousin's idea of only letting your kids have a friend party every other year and I wanted to make sure her 16th birthday was a friend party year.

(And just in case you're wondering how many times can I type friend party in one section, it's five.)

I adore Macy's friends.  They are such great kids.

What? 

You didn't know Hello Kitty has a boy frog friend named Keroppi?

As per Macy's request, we had a pinata.
Didn't really think that one through.
Would have been no big deal except that the biggest space we have is basically a 8' by 7'
 rectangle in our living room. 
Technically not big enough for 7 super excited preschoolers, one of which would be
 swinging a stick at any given time.

But we made it work.

(In other words, no one got hurt.)

We played "Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty."

Kind of a wash because no one wanted to be blindfolded.

The best part was that they were amazed at the fact that they all got the bow in the right place.

Then we had some cupcakes,

and sent them home.

Happy Birthday to our favorite little four year old.
And Macy, if you want your "five birthday" to be anything like this one, you better start planning.
After all, only 11.5 months to go!
