Even though I've been kind of MIA on the blog, we've been keeping pretty busy. Busy with...

...our garden-if you can even call it that. It's more like a couple pots and two random patches of dirt in our backyard. This is our second year trying to grow various things, so we're still kind of in a trial and error phase.

Our peppers start out great, but never get much bigger than this because a certain little someone likes to pick them when we aren't looking. In addition to our lettuce and peppers, we have one cucumber plant that is actually producing and a couple of crookneck squash plants. We planted some pumpkins too, but it's a little early to say whether or not they'll survive.

Mini fishing trips. Mini because they are never more than about a half an hour long, which is about the attention time of a two and half year old if you don't catch anything.

We sent up our tent for a little backyard camping, which Macy loved.

We even had s'mores, but had to do them inside in the microwave because we ran out of propane. :(

We caught two parades this year-the 4th of July parade in Kaysville and the Handcart Days parade in Bountiful. Macy was all about them as soon as she realized that parades are second only to Halloween as her biggest source of candy collection.

No more candy? No more smiles.

We also went to Kaysville's fireworks on the 4th. Mace and I ended up spending most of our time under the blanket hiding from the "scarewee" noises that the fireworks made. Maybe next year...

We managed to squeeze a hike in earlier in the month, which was a lot of fun (probably because it's only about a mile and a half round trip).

We got ripped off riding the rides during Handcart days ($1.50 for a two minute ride....PLEASE!)

Brett's supervisor gave us some tickets to Ogden's rodeo, so we went to that one night. Macy liked the "radio" because she got to see "pink princesses, (the three rodeo queens in the upper right corner of the picture) real cowboys and baby cows." I love how she interprets and explains things. So funny!

Hill AFB also has a fun splash pad that we've been frequenting. Anything to beat the heat.

And last, but not least, Macy and I have been spending a lot of time at Cherry Hill's water park (season pass=best investment EVER!). Two of my friends and their kids have passes as well, so in addition to wearing our kids out and keeping them entertained, we get some much needed adult conversation. Definitely a win-win situation if you ask me.

I have wondered about cherry hill. I was nervous to take my three kids on my own and if the water park was appropriate for small children. I'll have to try it out. Call me sometime if you need someone to go with.
You get some MAJOR mom points for doing all those activities while in your third trimester. Seriously a hike, what are you super woman. It's fine, as reigning champ, I think I can now hand over the 'toughest gal' award
I know, this is a way late comment but I'm so jealous about your Cherry Hill season pass! I wish I lived close enough to do it with you. I love Cherry Hill!
